Aviation Insurance
Insurance expertise for all sectors of general aviation.

Same aviation specialists, just with a new name
Formerly known as Forbes Insurance and Hill Aviation, we are now the Aviation division of Howden Insurance. We are proud to continue our journey as Howden, adding access and leverage to our in-depth aviation expertise to help you manage your commercial and personal risks with confidence.
We are aviation specialists with pilots on our team, ensuring we’re always up to date with developments in the flying world. Our passion for aviation helps us appreciate what you want and need from our insurance broking service. We're proud that we're frequently approached by individuals and businesses who have been given a personal recommendation by a previous or existing client.
At Howden, we can help with all your aviation insurance requirements:
- Gliders and motorgliders
- Fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft
- Glider tugs
- Employers’ liability (Required by law and a vital insurance for aviation clubs and repair & maintenance facilities)
- Gliding and flying clubs (Insurance solutions to fully cover club airfields and buildings, which often contain valuable equipment that could be damaged, lost or stolen)
- Airfield operators (An airfield has the potential to be a dangerous place and you are responsible for the safety of anyone who may use or visit your site. We can provide insurance which covers your liability to people on your site and any property they might store in your hangars)
- Aircraft maintenance companies (If you repair and service aircraft, liability for your work is something you should insure)
- Aviation-related businesses
Whatever type of insurance cover you need, Howden can help you find an aviation insurance policy that works best for you. We’re here to support our clients with a dedicated and friendly service, providing relevant advice and reliable cover.
Contributing to the aviation community
- As experienced members of the aviation world, we strongly believe in putting something back in, to ensure that aviation continues to flourish
- We have awarded bursaries to encourage more female instructors and young pilots. To date we have also sponsored more than 50 volunteer-run club events and competitions
- Through the Air League we operate a scholarship for young people to learn to fly solo
- We also provide sponsorship to the British Gliding Association and various gliding competitions, including the Women’s Worlds
